Our Voice provides opportunities for mainstream disability service providers to build their capacity in responding to the services access needs of people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds through learning from people with lived experience.
People living with disability from CALD backgrounds experience barriers in accessing support services, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the wider community. Our Voice supports people living with disability from CALD backgrounds to develop skills as Lived Experience Educators and share their unique insights and expertise as structured learning activities with disability service providers.
Learning activities are delivered in English and are Free to participating disability service providers for team meetings and staff learning and development activities. Lived Experience Educators can also be booked as guest speakers at interagency meetings, seminars and disability focused events.
SSI has received funding from NDIS Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) to deliver this two year project.
